Much of the rugged beauty of Kauai's mountainous interior is inaccessible to all but the most experienced hikers. Little can compare, however, with the thrill of hovering by helicopter within the waterfall-lined crater of Mt. Wai'ate'ale, or spotting feral goats while skimming through a twisting valley of the Na Pali coastline. A wide variety of helicopter flightseeing tours are available from Lihu'e, Port Allen and Princeville. Tours range in duration from 45 to 90 minutes, and are priced accordingly.
