The
Patriot new as of the winter of 2000, but the crew seems
friendly, the food copious in the nine meals a day mode
that’s typical for cruise ships, and large and modern
public areas. It
started cruising in September 2000 so the reports are still
out, but early reports indicate it seems a first class
operation that uses a newer ship to basically follow the old
American-Hawaiian route.
The
Patriot pulls away from Oahu's Aloha Tower at nine on
Saturday evening, arrives in Kauai Sunday evening and leaves
Monday, Arrives at Kahuli on Maui early on Tuesday,
overnights, and arrives in Hilo on the big island early
Thursday. Then dives around the South Point of Hawaii to
Kona to stay all day Friday.
Saturday morning it's back in Honolulu.
This
cruise packages up a Commodore's Package that includes half
day motor coach excursions to the most popular spots on each
island, and a Deluxe version that adds a trip to Pearl
Harbor and the Old Lahaina Luau on Maui.
As a general rule these tend to be minimally
