Q: What is a “must see” at Tedeschi Vineyards?
A “must see” is the Tasting Room where the centerpiece is an eighteen-foot-long bar cut from the trunk of a single mango tree. Besides wine, visitors can also purchase Hawaiian-made products and specialty foods and gifts.
If you only have a short time, visit the tasting room and save another visit for exploring the grounds of the 20,000-acre history-laden Ulupalakua Ranch. Q:
What else should I know before coming?
Bring a sweater or jacket as Upcountry Maui has a cool climate where at nighttime, temperatures may drop to the 40’s. Q:
What is an interesting fact about the vineyard?
The Tasting Room is located in one of the most historic old buildings on Maui and was built in 1874 as a place for the reigning monarch David Kalakuau and his Queen Kapi`olani to relax.
Down the road from the winery is the Ulupalakua Ranch Store, which has all the makings for a picnic lunch.
Free guided tours of the grounds and the winery operation are offered daily from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30p.m. |
