Terraces do, of course, mean steep, and the trails here are just that, and often wet. Bring good walking shoes with cleats or a walking stick, pick a dry day and consider an al fresco picnic with a Bali Hai and ocean view. 

If you work up a sweat, head another mile down Highway 560 to Ke'e Beach's lagoon.  That's one of the best in Hawaii when the waves are calm enough not to churn the shallows.
