A “must see” is the protea plant, Maui’s landmark flower that thrives in the Kula area of the island. 

If you really want to take advantage of the cool climate and the friendly atmosphere, think ahead and bring a picnic lunch instead of buying the light snacks available at the gift shop. 

The cool climate also makes the site a perfect place to grow Christmas trees. There is a farm in the upper reaches of the entire 23-acre setting. 

The Kula Botanical Garden is a popular place for weddings. Many couples take advantage of the cool climate and beautiful atmosphere to recite their vows under the gazebo.
