This inviting attraction is a great roadside stop on your 'around the island' drive of Oahu and is included on most of Oahu's Circle Island guided bus tours. There's something for everyone here, but families with children will find this attraction both economical and enjoyable. There are many educational displays of Hawaii's pineapple history along with original oversized pineapple cans used many years ago. Adults will enjoy
the pineapple cooking demonstrations and the garden highlighting 21 varieties of pineapple plants from all over the globe or witnessing the progress of the plantation's attempts at growing the largest pineapple in the ever.
One of the features at the Plantation is the amazing garden maze. The Dole Plantation is the site for the 1998 Guinness World Book of Record's for the largest maze. It has a huge pineapple as its center, and the speed record to complete the maze is currently under 6 minutes. Admission is inexpensive, and one can choose to attempt to break the mazes' speed record, or to take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the wide variety of tropical flora and fauna.
The Plantation Center is the hub for everything pineapple. There is a large selection of everything from pineapple salsa, to frosty pineapple flavored frozen treats.
If a quick snack is in order, make sure you try the pineapple chili-dog or maybe even the chocolate covered pineapple slices.
There is also a souvenir shop that has everything from pineapple salsa to pineapple postcards. It's quite a shop for unique gifts. What do you get for the person who has everything? How about a pineapple scented t-shirt?
Admission to Plantation: free
Admission to Maze: $4.50 adults, $2.50 children
